2016 Tax Information
To Our Valued Tax Client:
It’s time again to organize your tax information. This year we are again providing a streamlined checklist rather than the 4-page guideline. Hope you like it! Please gather the listed documents as they apply to you and bring them with you or send to us. This will help your tax preparation proceed without delays.
We will be electronically filing all returns, unless there is a requirement in your case to file by paper. This means you will be receiving a copy of the forms for your records and original forms will be sent electronically to the IRS and to NY State (or other appropriate state that accept electronic filing). This process not only saves a few trees but it catches common mistakes in your return before it is sent. It also shortens the time you have to wait for a refund check. If you are receiving a refund, you can have the amount deposited directly to your checking account. If you owe money, you can have the amount directly debited from your checking account, on a date you set up to and including April 17th.
Please let us know if you wish to use the same bank information from last year, or if you wish to designate a different bank account.
We will be scheduling tax appointments up to and including April 11th. Please do not send us your returns after this date, as we cannot assure you that returns received after April 11th will be completed by the April 17th deadline.
This year, we will have three tax preparers available to do your taxes: Susan Hansen, and Gayle Olivette. Tax appointments can be scheduled with your usual preparer unless there is a scheduling conflict.Note that forms reporting interest, dividends, capital gains and other 1099 forms may not be mailed to you until February 15th. If you are expecting to receive these forms, it is better to schedule your appointment after February 15th.
Please call 315-637-5153 or email email@example.com to schedule your tax preparation appointment, or if you have any questions.
We look forward to hearing from you!
