More American companies commit to equal pay for women

In June 2016, more than 28 Companies signed the White House Equal Pay Pledge, which commits them to take action within their organizations by conducting an annual company-wide gender pay analysis across occupations, reviewing their hiring and promotion processes, embedding equal pay efforts into broader enterprise-wide equity initiatives, and identifying and promoting other best practices that will help ensure wage fairness for all workers.

The first 28 companies who signed the pledge included: Accenture, Airbnb, Amazon, American Airlines, BCG, Buffer, Care.com, CEB, Cisco, Deloitte, the Dow Chemical Company, Expedia, Inc., Gap Inc., Glassdoor, GoDaddy, Jet.com, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oréal USA, PepsiCo, Pinterest, Popcorn Heaven, PwC, Rebecca Minkoff, Salesforce, Slack , Spotify, Staples, and Stella McCartney.

An additional 29 companies have signed on since June. They are: A.T. Kearney, Akamai Technologies, Anheuser-Busch, Apple, Chobani, The Coca-Cola Company, CVS Health, Delta Air Lines, Dropbox, Dunkin’ Brands, EY, Facebook, General Motors, The Hartford, The Hershey Company, Hilton, IBM, IKEA US, Intel, The Libra Group, LinkedIn, MailChimp, Microsoft, MuleSoft, Nike, Patagonia, Target, Unilever, and Visa.
