It’s that time of year again! With 2018 quickly approaching, we’re all setting our New Year’s Resolutions with the best of intentions. We hope that with the advent of a new year and its fresh start, we’ll be transformed into healthy, fit people that never hit snooze on our alarm clock and always remember to take out the trash. I have to admit, I’ve gotten caught up in the hype, and as 2017 is winding down, I have been reminded of a couple goals that I set for myself this year that I never quite got around to. So, along with all of you, I have set my New Year’s Resolution for 2018. Best of all, you all get to come on my journey with me!

The first part of my New Year’s Resolution is to get myself in shape, and not the kind of shape you’d get at the gym. Financial shape. I know this might surprise you, as I am a Financial Advisor, but along with a lot of my clients, it can be hard to find the time to prioritize the things I need to do to get my financial house in order. As much as I advise my clients to do the responsible things for themselves and their families, it is about time I took my own advice! As I well know from working with my clients, getting all of this done takes time, patience, and diligence. I will be focusing on getting one task accomplished each week for the first several weeks of the year! These tasks will range from creating a budget (coming in Week 1!), to finalizing my estate planning, and everything in between.

This leads really well into the second part of my New Year’s Resolution. Starting a blog! It has been on my list for several months now, but it can take a lot of time to get a blog started, and then you have to find things to write about. Chronicling my experience of going through this financial planning process sounds like a great way to start. You’ll get to see first hand what it takes to really get your financial house in order, and how easy it can be.

If you’d like to follow along on my journey, you can sign up to receive the blog posts in your email! Please feel free to share this with any friends, family or colleagues that you think might benefit from it. If you’re thinking that you need to get your financial house in order too, I invite you to join me on my journey. I’ll be updating our Facebook page and Twitter accounts with updates through the week with the hashtag, #FinancialFitness2018. Share the things that you’re doing to get yourself in Financial Shape, ask us questions, and feel free to make requests if there’s something you’d like to see me try out. You can message us on Facebook or tweet us @hansensadvisory.

I am really looking forward to getting in Financial Shape in 2018, and sharing my whole journey with you!

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Katelyn, and the rest of the Hansen’s Advisory Team
